Rione San Donato

Rione San Donato is characterized by the colors red and blue and its symbol is one of Lake Trasimeno's brightest fish: the sunfish, known to all as the "Gobbo."
Located in the easternmost part of Passignano sul Trasimeno, the district extends from the village of San Vito to the Ponte delle Masse, the border with the Centro Storico district. It is the oldest of the four districts: since the early 1970s, local residents have gathered to organize the Feast of the Madonna del Carmine, fostering a strong spirit of community and participation.
From that experience, in the early 1980s, a group of young people decided to build the Circolo di San Donato, the headquarters and beating heart of the district's life.
Over the years, San Donato has achieved numerous successes, including victory in the only edition of the Palio delle Donne, held in September 2007.
Even today, the district passionately celebrates every moment of the Palio delle Barche: residents and supporters renew the challenge each year with determination and pride, enthusiastically defending the red and blue colors and contributing to the success of one of Passignano's most cherished traditions.
