Rione Oliveto

Rione Oliveto is characterized by the colors white and green and its symbol is the eel, a fish from Lake Trasimeno that represents the strength and tenacity of its contrada members.
Located in the western part of Passignano, the district extends from the industrial area to Via dei Mandorli, the road that marks the border with Rione Centro Due.
Over the years, the district has achieved significant successes, including victory in the first historic Palio delle Barche, held in 1984. On that occasion, the crew was composed of Faliero Coccolini and Franco Ceppitelli, while the land group was led by Mario Coccolini.
The heart of the district's life is the Church of the Madonna dell'Oliveto, a building of great architectural and spiritual value and a focal point for the community.
Today, the district headquarters is located next to the church, inaugurated in 2010 after years of commitment by the Olivetans.
Rione Oliveto is also known for its traditions and the numerous initiatives that enliven the life of the district throughout the year, from folk festivals to cultural and historical activities.
With passion and a sense of belonging, the Olivetans participate every year in the Palio delle Barche, proudly defending the white and green colors and helping to keep alive one of Passignano sul Trasimeno's most important traditions.
