Rione Centro Storico "The Queen"

Rione Centro Storico is characterized by the colors white and red and its symbol is the noble carp of Lake Trasimeno, known as "The Queen."

The district extends along the picturesque lakeside of Passignano, from the Ponte delle Masse to the former SAI factories, and represents the historic and vibrant heart of the town. Here, history, tradition, and daily life meet, amidst characteristic views dominated by the Clock Tower and the medieval fortress.

It was within these ancient walls that the clashes between the Oddi and Baglioni families took place, episodes that marked the history of the area. One of these events gave rise to the historical reenactment of the Palio delle Barche, an event that every year involves the entire community and attracts numerous visitors.

The carp symbol, "The Queen," represents the pride and determination of the contrada members of the historic center, who approach each edition of the Palio with passion and a sense of belonging.

The district experiences the event not only as a competition, but as a moment of sharing and collective identity, contributing to the cultural and social vitality of Passignano throughout the year.
